Fresco Painting – One Day Workshop

For Beginners in Fresco Painting (all levels welcome) – no experience
required.

A rare and exciting opportunity to gain an insight into the remarkable
technique of Buon Fresco, a centuries-old technique of mural painting
popularised by Michelangelo in the Sistine Chapel.

Students will learn about the materials and the various stages of the
process:
– preparation of the support
– preparation of powdered pigments
– transfer of the design
– painting process

The aim of the one day workshop is for students to gain an introduction to
fresco painting and to create their own small fresco on a terracotta
support.
