Jamie McCartney has recently moved his bodycasting studio from Brighton’s (very open-to-the-elements) seafront to the hustle and bustle of the Laines, in Ship Street Gardens.
Jamie’s award-winning work is popular and a source of much interest to those who have seen it! Bodycasting (also known as lifecasting) is the process of taking a mould directly from the body to produce a sculpture as accurate as a photograph. Jamie casts everything from full-body to babies’ hands and feet. Jamie also creates unique sculptures such as the Erotic Signature Sculpture Competition Winner 2007 work, The Impossibility of Passion.
The move comes just as award-winning Jamie is working like the clappers to complete his much-publicised ‘Design A Vagina’ sculpture prior to it’s launch in the Brighton Festival in the Fringe and Arts Open Houses events. Jamie is looking for only a few more women to volunteer to complete the sculpture but is also looking for assistants; anyone interested in being part of this fascinating project, whether behind the scenes or right up front! – can contact Jamie at the following details:
