CF36 3YW

My name is Richard Lloyd.
Born in Bridgend in 1962, but have lived in Leeds, West Yorkshire since
1998.
I have a stammer but this has never stopped me getting what I want out of
life. The British Stammering Association has been so supportive of me over the
years. I now work for West Yorkshire Police, after caring for the elderly and
those with learning difficulties for most of my adult life.
I am happily married with children and a menagerie of pets.
Photography has been my 1st and only interest since I was a young lad who
tried to photograph ants !! My father lives in Porthcawl and in 2009 I cycle all the way from Leeds to
his house in time for his 70th birthday. This exhibition is dedicated to Jean Lewis, a much missed friend and a lady
who supported me all the way with my interest in photography.

whole of the north of England. The NWSFA organises a number of exhibition
Cats, Dogs and a bit of nostalgia
7.07.11-13.07.11
The Witham (Witham Hall)
3 Horsemarket, Barnard Castle, Co. Durham. DL12 8LY
England

A series of pen and ink drawings plus oils and pastel work of cats,
dogs and people at work. Apart from my animal work, i am also working on on
some paintings and drawings which reflect the changes, and in some cases,
lost work roles, which until recently were every day events, such as
coalmen, (a rare sight now), binmen ( where they physically carried the
heavy metal bins on their shoulders and threw the contents into the back of
the refuse trucks), milkmen, rag and bone men, bus conductors. Jobs now that
are becoming very rare to see, if not completely gone.

Parallax AF grew out of an international exhibition called “Parallax”
that was conceived and curated by the art historian and theorist Dr Chris
Barlow.

Parallax AF is different from other artists’ fairs in that it is like a
specialised exhibition. It is a serious platform for international and
national artists to present their work to national and international
dealers, art industry people, collectors, critics and buyers without
commission charges. This also provides artists with the benefit, if they
wish, to present non-commercial work, or to try out new commercial ideas,
without high overhead risks often associated with other fairs.
