Tobacco Factory: Word Temple – performance poetry meets hip hop and reggae
WORD TEMPLE Saturday 28 October, 8pm Tickets £10/£7 concessions
The Word Temple rocks into the Tobacco Factory next week for one night only. Featuring leading performers from the UK’s thriving spoken word and slam poetry circuit, this new show from Amani Naphtali (director of Ragamuffin), takes us on a thought-provoking journey around life in today’s Britain.
Get ready for electrifying poetry from Moqapi Selassie, Amen Noir, shortMAN, Shakara, El Crisis and David J. Also featuring Oneness, Tuggs.t.a.r, Gemma Weekes, the soulful sounds of Rasiyah and Ekundayo’s piercing prose. All of this is backed by stunning visuals, pulsating beats from cutting edge DJs and the funkiest live band in British theatre!
