images, story and music. Using the body and voice as a point of departure
participants will work individually & as a group in order to explore the
relationship between instruments both traditional and none specific, such as
domestic objects that will culminate in a final sharing to be recorded on video.

Dramatherapy – by Haydn Forde
Saturday 7 Oct – 11 AM to 6 PM & Sunday 8 Oct 2006 – 12 to 5 PM

In the Dramatherapy sessions, participants are invited to begin with exercises to
facilitate awareness of self and others.

A physical warm up & other exercises will follow, to prepare for the main body of
the session – an improvised enactment of a fairy tale/myth. The workshop leader
will outline the fairy tale, once for the participants to absorb the story, and
again for the enactment. The sessions will conclude with exercises to depart from
the imaginative realm and for grounding. Dress: Loose clothing

Exploring identities in a theatrical way, the workshop uses full body as ‘Mask’.
We will look at physical theatre techniques to help us identify our own and other
people’s masks’ and then incorporate them to create characters and performances,
based on the participants ideas, while also gaining a greater understanding of the
self. Dress: Loose clothing

Workshop Facilitator: Lazlo Ilya Pearlman is a creator, director and performer
making work in theatre, film, cabaret and performance art. His work has been

formatting a script, gathering and planning ideas, and ‘try out’ the drafts with
group feedback. The workshop will culminate with the participants having their
work shared and recorded on video at the end of the weekend. You can bring your

Artist needs York memoires for Art Festival

Artist needs York memoires for Art Festival

I have been selected to feature artwork for Sight Sonic, the digital arts festival,
and I am looking for people to contribute memories about York to turn into digital
art.

Having produced numerous text based, site specific, digital installations using
the technique of projecting memories, thoughts and comments from friends and
family depending upon subject matter, I am currently looking to develop my ideas
using memories and the thoughts from anonymous contributors. This will hopefully
consist of contributions from your readers, members of the public whom I approach
in the street and from response to an article that has been written in my local
press (Doncaster Star).

As Sight Sonic is an international festival held within York, I wish to combine my
digital skills with the publics love for this historic city to produce a nostalgic
response.

I would like to hear from any with comment about York. It could be about the city
or its attractions, individual experiences or feelings. It doesn’t have to be long,
poetic, positive or even make sense, just something to spark a viewers imagination
upon seeing the piece. If someone wishes to send an essay of experiences and
memories that too would be greatly appreciated. If people wish to see examples of
my previous work they can visit my website http://www.shelleyclarkson.co.uk

I would like the comments to be emailed to me at
mailto:shelley.clarkson@hotmail.co.uk ideally before the 14th October.
Late additions will be considered and hopefully added to the piece.

Thank you.
