Get involved in Arts & Kids Week – 21-29 October 2006

***When***
21-29 October 2006

***Why you should get involved***
Advertise your events for families and children this Autumn through Arts & Kids
and Classic FM for FREE and reach a huge potential audience base:

- Classic FM has over 6.5 million listeners every week, and has the biggest
commercial breakfast show in the UK with over 2 million listeners each week

- Arts & Kids will be actively promoting selected Arts & Kids Week events to
100,000s readers through national and regional press.

- Over 8,000 people use the Arts & Kids events listings guide each month. Plus,
during Arts & Kids Week there is a direct link from the Classic FM homepage to the
Arts & Kids Events for Kids listing guide.

- You can use the special Arts & Kids Week logo when publicising any event for
children or families that takes place between 21 October and 31 December 2006.

***What is Arts & Kids Week?***
Classic FM Arts & Kids Week promotes arts events for children and young people
right around the UK, encouraging children and families to visit their local
cultural venue, be it a theatre, gallery or museum.

Events which take place between the 21 October and 31 December 2006 will be
promoted on-line through http://www.artsandkids.org.uk and
http://www.classicfm.com

Hand-picked events from across the UK and taking place between 21 October and 11
November will also be promoted on air by Classic FM during Arts & Kids Week and as
part of Arts & Kids’ media campaign to get more families interested in culture.

***How to get involved***
1)Promote your events online
- Visit the Events for Kids page on the Arts & Kids website
( http://www.artsandkids.org.uk/events )- Click on ‘submit an event’
- Add your event details (this should only take 5 minutes)
- Click submit

2)Promote your events on-air
- Visit the Events for Kids page on the Arts & Kids website and add your event to
the online listings guide (this is essential as the on-air presenters will be
encouraging people to visit the listings guide to find out more about the event,
so your event needs to be there for people to find!)
- Write a short paragraph about your event that clearly explains how great it is.
- Send an email about your event to mailto:artsandkidsweek@artsandkids.org.uk by
Wednesday 4 October. Make sure you include the paragraph about your event (40
words), details of any special family offers you have created for Arts & Kids Week
(2 for 1 tickets etc), your contact details and a picture that illustrates your
event. We’ll send you the Arts & Kids logo in return if you ask us.
- (Note – Arts & Kids and Classic FM will hand-pick the events that are promoted
on air. We cannot guarantee that your event will be included.)

***Did you know?***
The Arts & Kids listings guide is available all year round at
http://www.artsandkids.org.uk/events so even if your events take place too late
for Arts & Kids Week 2006 you can still get involved. It’s a free online service
which advertises events for children and young people which are taking place
around the UK. Visitors using the listing guide can search for events in their
local area by using their postcode. They can also search for events by age group
or by art form.
